Are You A Currency Trader Or Currency Gambler?
Dismissal of something that does not correspond to the normal social routine is a customary behavior among us. Individuals do not like what they do not understand. Still worse, we generally tend to be afraid of the new. How do people respond to the forex trading business? Do you tell others that you trade for a source of revenue or do you prefer to hide behind more Traditional labels? Does your partner empathize with your trading occupation or classify you as unwise and in need of a Good occupation?
Forex trading is routinely misunderstood, treated as a joke job or rapidly waved off as gambling; as a result scores of traders do not even bother mentioning to others that they trade. Along with lack of knowledge there is of course envy of someone else accomplishments, so in nearly every case it is better not to declare your forex trading successes to others, unless you want to be called a slothful dummy that can not hang on to a more conventional occupation.
Some traders treat forex like a a blend of accepted careers such as computers and office work. Forex trading is a real business which demands time, instincts, a business mind, management, planning and plan building. But, since online forex trading is a relatively recent idea for creating an income, a large part of the public is still quite unacquainted with forex as a career.
Pretending to have a different profession in this case has little to do with being embarrassed by it. Some individuals compare trading to brain surgery in terms of skill and application – definitely not a career to be uncomfortable with! When you churn out a source of revenue with forex trading and the market brings you continuous income, this ought to be sufficient to evade harsh glances of the condemnatory bypassers.
The role played by a spouse is exceedingly important, and their assistance is crucial. I guess, I am very lucky to have a very supportive spouse who supports and appreciates the difficulties of forex trading. After all, there are sacrifices made on both sides. It is important for a trader’s success to be around individuals who do not pollute the air with envious and cynical remarks regarding what you think of as a critical part of who you are.
Unless they are forex traders, nobody really understands what you are going through. Even persons who are involved in the stock market tend to judge that the market is random. In my experience, it is better to not discuss forex with the outside world! As a substitute, mention something about taxes and accounting – humdrum professions are cherished but rarely ridiculed!
If you decide, however, to bare your true identity as a forex trader, at least make it a rule that you will not furnish any market predictions or tips. Furthermore, once you are successful, it is essential not to boast and brag. It only makes people extremely envious and jealous. Keep it as trouble-free as possible – others do not have to know about the billions in your bank account!
From time to time when people hear that you are a forex trader they may label you as being lazy, unfriendly and conceited. Responses such as you should be doing something more constructive, or don’t you feel the need to contribute to the general welfare of the country? How much do you produce a month? That sounds so dreary, I could never do that or aren’t you lonely? Don’t you want people around you?” are not isolated cases. I personally put all the impolite responses down to envy, lack of knowledge and intimidation as the technical definition of forex trading. Sorry, but I do not do the mundane ! I am rare and proud of it (my bank account speaks for its self).
Others may have a belief that you are a gambler – not too unusual, but it does conjure up repulsive reactions from those who feel you ought to reveal the secret of easy-money making! The fact is that 95% of traders (and I am talking about the unsuccessful forex luck-seekers, who do not merit the title trader in the first place) ARE gambling! Thus it is not unreasonable to expect others to believe that you belong to this sorry group! I have to acknowledge that quite a number of people have dismissed me as a gambler, but I do not really care. I sympathize with the slaves of the work system. Better to be a gambler than a slave robot, don’t you agree?
